Inquiry committee constitutes to investigate the harassment allegations at Lahore school

Lahore district education authority on Tuesday has formed an inquiry committee to investigate the harassment accusations leveled against teachers by some of its students of an elite private school.

As being reported, the principal of the Government Islamia High School, Mr Ghyas Sabir will be leading the committee with Model Town deputy district education officers Shahid Ali Shah and Ms Sadia Naeem as its members.

The committee has been asked to find the facts and inquire the sexual assault allegations levelled by several affected girls of the Lahore Grammar School Ghalib Market branch against at least four male teachers.

The committee is required to submit its report along with recommendations in three days.

Punjab School Education Minister Dr Murad Raas, while highlighting the matter tweeted:

“I will deal with the case in Lahore Grammar School 1A1 myself. Have talked to the Principal this morning. Getting all the details…I will protect them (the children). This case will be brought to a proper conclusion according to law.”

Meanwhile, the school branch has issued a statement addressing to its former and current students.
