Internet service to remain suspended for an indefinite period, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said on Wednesday.
PTA confirmed that the decision to block mobile broadband services was taken on the directives of the Ministry of Interior.
Furthermore, major social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram are also reportedly down for many users across the country.
Users are unable to access these platforms since yesterday.
The Internet services were shut down on Tuesday as protests erupted after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
The mobile broadband services were blocked as the videos of violent protests were being shared widely on social media platforms after unrest flared up across the country following the PTI chairman’s arrest.
