Educational institutions in Islamabad, Muree and Rawalpindi to Remain Closed on Nov 25 Amid PTI Protests
The decision has been taken in view of the prevailing situation
All educational institutions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi will remain closed tomorrow, November 25, 2024.
This decision has been made by the district administrations in both cities due to the ongoing protests by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, which has raised concerns about law and order.
The district administration in Islamabad announced that all public and private educational institutions will be closed, citing the need to ensure the safety of students amid the current political situation. A formal notification regarding this closure is expected to be issued shortly.
“In view of the current law and order situation, all educational institutions in the federal capital will remain closed tomorrow,” Deputy Commissioner Islamabad confirmed on X (formerly Twitter).
He added that a notification to this effect will be issued soon.
Following Islamabad’s lead, the Rawalpindi administration confirmed that all educational institutions will also close for similar reasons. This measure aims to protect students and staff from potential disruptions due to the protests.
All the educational institutions in Murree will also remain closed tomorrow (Monday) and an official notification in this regard will be issued shortly, announced Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi.
“The notification will be applied to all public and private institutions of the district,” he added.
“The decision of educational institute closure has been made due to the current situation,” the DC said.
The closures come as PTI supporters gather for a significant protest in Islamabad, which has led to heightened security measures, including roadblocks and a substantial police presence in both cities. The situation has been further complicated by a court ruling restricting public gatherings in light of the upcoming visit of the Belarusian president.
