Islamabad bank employee arrested for harnessing woman after video of the incident went viral

Islamabad bank employee has been arrested for harassing a woman after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

A Faysal Bank employee who was caught on camera groping a woman in the office, was identified as Usman Gohar, has also been dismissed from the job, according to Bank’s statement.

Pakistan Human Rights Minister, Shireen Mazari on Sunday shared an update about the Islamabad bank harassment case on social media.

“Usman Gohar of Faysal Bank arrested @dcislamabad informed. He has also been issued a letter of dismissal by the Bank. Appreciate quick action by ICT Admin & ICT police”, she said.

Furthermore, Deputy commissioner of Islamabad Muhammed Hamza Shafqat, sharing an update on the bank harassment case, on social media said that the culprit Usman Gohar has been dismissed from service by the Bank. He cannot be hired by any other bank as per State Bank regulations.

He also shared an account of how the raids were being conducted to arrest the culprit.

On the other hand, Faysal Bank has issued a statement, stating that the Bank strongly condemns such individual act of unprofessional behavior and #workplaceharassment by an employee, which is contrary to the strong value system, ethical standards and professional work environment being maintained by the Bank for all its employees. #UsmanGohar.

Social media in Pakistan has been in an uproar after the video of the inceident went viral. But this time authories were quick in responding to the harassemt case and took action timely.
