Islamabad’s Covid-19 positivity rate jumps to 8%!
Deputy Commissioner Muhammed Hamza Shafqaat shared the update in a tweet on Sunday.
“In just 2 weeks the covid positivity in Islamabad has jumped from 1% to 8%. Around 40% of cases are suffering from delta variants. Admission in hospitals has increased from 100 to 159 which is not as high because of the high vaccination rate in Islamabad. Almost 8 lac 50,000 vaccinated,” he said in a tweet.

The federally administered territories including Islamabad, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan have collectively reported 416 coronavirus cases and five deaths during the last 24 hours.
Region-wise breakdown of COVID cases is as follows:
- Islamabad: 164 cases
- AJK: 178 cases, 3 deaths
- GB: 74 cases, 2 deaths
Meanwhile, the authorities in the federal capital are taking action against the unvaccinated salesmen and have sealed a number of shops.
Teams have been inspecting various shops randomly to see if everyone is vaccinated or not. It is requested that everyone must get vaccinated as soon as possible as cases are rising due to 4th wave pic.twitter.com/cs10iBHiLS
