JK Rowling reached out to a 12 year old Kashmiri girl in a heartwarming tweet.
A 12 year old Kashmiri girl named Kulsum wrote a heartwarming letter to the world’s renowned author after being inspired by Rowling’s life and achievements. An essay on JK Rowling, any one could have hardly imagined that it would actually be read by the Harry Potter author herself, along with many others. Kulsum is an enthusiastic Harry Potter fan just like any other teenager at her age also being a first generation English learner in Jammu and Kashmir.
Kulsum is a student from Haji Public School in Jammu and Kashmir, since she doesn’t have any social media or email. Her teacher Sabbah Hajji Baji took to social media on her behalf and posted Kulsum’s letter for JK Rowling. She tweeted, ” “Dear @jk_rowling. Kulsum, 12, a first generation English learner from the Himalayas would like to meet you someday. So come visit us at Haji Public School.”

This tweet didn’t get unnoticed by the Harry Porter series author and then came a pleasant surprise not just Rowling replied but also inquired about the girl so she could send her something. JK Rowling replied, “Please, can you send me Kulsum’s full name by DM? I’d love to send her something”.
