Justice Muneeb to assume charge as Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan as Faiz Isa leaves country

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, will be traveling abroad from May 18th to May 25th

Justice Muneeb Akhtar will take the oath as the Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan during Justice Faiz Isa’s foreign trip.

As reported, the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, will be travelling abroad from May 18th to May 25th. Meanwhile, Senior Judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah is already on an international trip.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Supreme Court Judges’ Block at 10:30 AM on Saturday.

Justice Yahya Afridi will administer the oath to Acting Chief Justice Muneeb Akhtar.

CJP Qazi Faez Isa will depart for Azerbaijan on Friday evening where he will participate in the Chief Justices’ Conference of ECO countries.

It is pertinent to mention here that, the Chief Justice, Mansoor Ali Shah is the most senior judge of SC. However, he is also currently abroad.

Therefore, Justice Muneeb Akhtar will assume the charge as the Acting Chief Justice tomorrow.
