“Kane Richardson’s test for COVID-19 has come back negative and he is on his way to the ground,” said the official statement.

The Australian cricket team had returned from South Africa earlier this week after concluding their ODI series with the hosts.

Upon their return, Richardson had complained of a sore throat that led medical staff to test the player for the virus.
