Karachi Blast Update: No gas line at the site of the explosion, Sui Southern

No gas line at the site of the blast, Sui Southern has claimed.

A powerful explosion took place near the Paracha Chowk area of Shershah, at 1:50 pm, police and eyewitnesses said.

A team from the Sui Southern Gas Administration also arrived at the scene after the blast was reported.

Sui Southern officials said in a statement after inspecting the gas pipeline that there was no gas pipeline near the blast, according to technical staff.

According to Sui Southern, there were no traces of gas at the site and the area’s gas supply was normal. The blast could not be connected to the Sui Southern pipeline.

The explosion was caused by a build-up of methane gas in the nullah, says Bomb Disposal Squad, BDS initial report.

On the other hand, the Police in their initial statement denied any element of sabotage or terrorism in the blast, claiming that the incident took place accidentally in a gas pipeline and was set up on a private bank drain affected by the blast.

Following the explosion, law enforcement officials have arrived at the scene and collected evidence.

A bomb disposal squad has launched an investigation into the nature of the blast and nothing is yet known about the nature of the blast.

A blast in the Sher Shah area of ​​Karachi completely destroyed a private bank building and killed 14 people.

Dilawar Khan, father of PTI leader and National Assembly member Alamgir Khan was among the blast victims.

According to police, the blast took place at Sher Shah Paracha Chowk, causing severe damage to a private bank building.

The blast was heard far and wide and damaged other nearby buildings beside the Habib Bank building.

KMC sources said that a bank was set up at the place where the canal is passing. At the place where the blast took place, there is a canal 5 to 6 feet wide.

According to the sources, the canal is not open even in an inch of space in an area of about one kilometer. ۔

Rescue sources said that 16 people were injured in the blast and were shifted to the hospital.

Head of Trauma Center Sabir Memon said that so far 14 bodies have been brought from the Karachi blast’s site, 8 injured have been discharged after first aid while 6 injured are undergoing treatment in hospital, and 2 are on the ventilator.
