Karachi Braces for Foggy Conditions on Monday and Tuesday, Warns PMD
As the winter season approaches, Karachiites should prepare for reduced visibility and take necessary precautions while travelling.
Karachi is set to experience foggy weather on Monday, November 11, 2024, and Tuesday, November 12, 2024, according to the latest forecast from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The anticipated fog is expected to develop during the early morning and late-night hours, potentially affecting visibility in various parts of the city.
As the winter season approaches, Karachiites should prepare for reduced visibility and take necessary precautions while travelling.
The PMD has advised motorists to drive cautiously and use fog lights to ensure safety on the roads.
In addition to the fog, Karachi’s daytime temperatures are projected to remain relatively warm, ranging from 36°C to 38°C. While the city will largely experience dry weather, residents should remain alert for any sudden changes in conditions.
The PMD continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as necessary. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official channels for the latest weather advisories.
On the other hand, PMD has forecast light rain in various parts of the country and snowfall in the upper mountainous regions. While most areas will experience dry weather today, with cool nights, some areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may see rain.
On Monday, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, and Galiyat are expected to have cloudy skies with rain and light snowfall in the mountains. Pothohar region and northeastern Punjab may experience partly cloudy skies with a possibility of rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms in some areas.
Meanwhile, Skardu and Gupis have already recorded temperatures near freezing.
Chitral, Dir, Swat, and Shangla are expected to experience rain with thunderstorms and snowfall in higher altitudes.
