Karachi Circular Railway to resume operations from November 16

Karachi Circular Railway to resume operations from Nov 16, announces Pakistan Railway on Tuesday.

According to the official press release, eight up and down passenger trains will run daily, for which the maximum fare will be Rs50.

In the first phase, beginning from November 16, trains from Pipri station will pass through Landhi, Malir, Drigh Road, Cantt, City, Kemari, Wazir Mansion, Lyari, Gulbai, Site, Shah Abdul Latif, and Orangi stations.

Four trains of five bogeys each will be run on a daily basis between Pipri and Orangi  (60 kilometers) simultaneously at 7 am, 10 am, 1 pm, and 4 pm.

Railway officials said that in pursuance of orders by the Supreme Court, Pakistan Railways is seeing to the phase-wise restoration of the Circular Railway.

Pakistan Railways has renovated 15 bogies located in Islamabad in a bid for the restoration of KCR. The renovated bogies are likely to reach Karachi within in 2 to 3 days.
