Karachi Intermediate Exams Postponed to May 5 to Ensure Exam Integrity

Karachi’s intermediate examinations, originally scheduled to start on April 28, 2025, have been postponed to May 5, 2025.

This decision was announced by the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) and confirmed by the board’s spokesperson.

The ongoing process of awarding grace marks to students in key science subjects such as Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics for the 2024 Intermediate Part-I examinations. This process affects students in the Science, Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, and Science General groups and needs to be completed before exams could commence.

The overlap with ongoing matriculation examinations at several exam centres, which are still in use until May 2.

Since many centres are shared between matriculation and intermediate exams, the intermediate exams had to be rescheduled to ensure proper availability of centres and maintain the integrity of the examination system.

The delay aims to uphold the examination system’s organisation and fairness, allowing time for the grace marks process and avoiding logistical conflicts with matric exams.

Students and parents have been advised to adjust their preparation plans according to the new schedule.
