More than 30 staff members of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) at the central branch of II Chundrigar Road in Karachi have tested positive for COVID-19, reports emerged on Sunday.
According to a spokesperson, the positive cases in the branch included the manager, the head cashier of the bank and several others employees working there. After the test results of various staff member came positive, the branch has been closed down for any operation.
The branch will be reopened after the office is disinfected and other precautionary measures are taken. The employees who are infected have put themselves in isolation at their homes, the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson of NBP added that the branch will be operational from Monday (June 8) and bank operations will be resumed by a new team.
The SOPs and other precautionary measures against the deadly infection will be strictly implemented in the branch, the spokesperson added.
