Karachi Shivers Through Coldest Night of Winter at 8°C

Over the next 24 hours, the PMD forecasts a maximum temperature of 26°C and a minimum that could drop further to 7°C.

Karachi has experienced its coldest night of the winter season, with temperatures dropping to 8°C on January 7, 2025.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported that the coldest spot in the city was Jinnah Terminal, where temperatures dipped to 6.2°C. Other areas also recorded significant drops, including Gulistan-e-Jauhar at 7.5°C and Shahrah-e-Faisal at 11.5°C.

The chilly weather is being exacerbated by north-easterly winds that make it feel 2 to 4 degrees colder than the actual temperature.

Over the next 24 hours, the PMD forecasts a maximum temperature of 26°C and a minimum that could drop further to 7°C.

Residents are advised to prepare for continued cold conditions, as the current cold wave is expected to persist due to icy winds from Balochistan.

Meanwhile, morning fog has also reduced visibility in some areas of the city, contributing to minor disruptions.
