Karachi: Imtiaz Supermarket, Continental Bakery and several mobile shops sealed over COVID-19 SOP violations
A number of shops were sealed by the administration in Karachi over the COVID-19 SOP violations. And a collective fine of Rs900,000 was imposed on the supermarkets, restaurants, and bakeries by the authorities.
In District East, authorities sealed Imtiaz Supermarket, Saveway supermarket, and famous Continental Bakery in Gulshan-e-Iqbal have been sealed over violating the government’s SOPs aimed at controlling the spread of the coronavirus.
Furthermore, a mobile market in Korangi and several restaurants were reportedly sealed.

Meanwhile, in the Saddar area, 10 shops were sealed, in Nazimabad Serena mobile market was sealed and two other mobile markets were also sealed in the Gulberg area as well.
It was a day ago when Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani announced the decision to close restaurants, wedding halls, and supermarkets in the metropolis for non-compliance with SOPs for protection against coronavirus.
He said that coronavirus was spreading rapidly, adding that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had issued special directives to curb the spread of the epidemic. He directed the Deputy Commissioners not to be lenient with anyone who was violating restaurants and supermarkets.
