Amidst the rise in cases of COVID-19, smart and micro lockdowns will be imposed in all districts of Karachi by today or tomorrow, Administrator Iftikhar Shallwani said on Friday.

“Micro lockdowns will be imposed in districts Malir and Korangi,” said administrator Karachi adding that “all deputy commissioners should consult their respective health officers [on the lockdowns]. The notification announcing the lockdown should be released by today or tomorrow”.

The decision of the smart and micro lockdowns has been taken during a meeting chaired by administrator Shallwani. The meeting was attended by deputy commissioners and the district health officers. Secretary health Kazim Jatoi also attended the meeting.

The district south, east, central, and west of the metropolis will release notifications of the imposition of smart lockdowns by tomorrow (Saturday), said Shallwani.
