Technical fault in Bin Qasim power plant may cause load shedding in certain areas of Karachi, informed K-Electric on Tuesday.
According to the electric supply company spokesperson, the power generation ability of KE has decreased by 130-megawatts due to a technical fault in one of the units of the Bin Qasim Power Plant, adding that there will be temporary load management in the affected areas.
The spokesperson said that load management would be carried out in half of the industrial zones to provide relief to the residential customers.

Furthermore, customers have been informed in advance and the schedule of load management is available on the website of K-Electric.
The spokesperson also stated that the company is in touch with the power ministry regarding the supply of furnace oil and assured that the temporary load shedding will be finished when the fault is rectified.
