Kashif Abbasi clears the air over blasphemy accusations made against him on social media
Kashif Abbasi has issued a statement after the social media went wild accusing the ARY News anchorperson and journalist of blasphemy.
By taking it to social media, Kashif Abbasi wrote, “The clip is taken completely out of context. I joked with my guests who both happened to be Omar. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever even think about saying something wrong about Hazrat Omar (RA), who happens to be my role model given his strong character & services to Islam”.

In another tweet, he wrote, “I have an absolute faith Omar Hazrat Umar RA, I have a belief in him. I cannot even imagine in the Quddas the glory of Hazrat Umar. The Great Companions are role models for me. May Allah always raise me in the worship of the Companions and bless them, Ameen”.

It all started when Kashif Abbasi casually joked about people named Umer on his live show Off the Record on ARY News, and that led to the start of blasphemy allegations against him on social media. A video clip taken out from Kashif Abbasi’s news talk show started to circulate on social media and in the meanwhile #ArrestKashifAbbasi trends top on Twitter.
