• PM Shehbaz Sharif has picked Lt Gen Asim Munir as new COAS and Lt Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza as CJCSC
• President House’s Secretariat received the summary regarding appointments of army chief and chairman JCSC on Thursday
• The federal information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has officially confirmed that the summary for appointments has been sent for president’s approval

 

• The president of Pakistan will make both appointments under Article 243 of the Constitution as per the advice of the prime minister.
