Saudi murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s sons have announced to “forgive” the murderers of their father — a move that can grant leniency to the convicts facing death penalty.
Khashoggi was killed and mutilated at the Saudi Arabia´s consulate in Turkey in October 2018 in a case that stained the reputation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
“On this holy night of this blessed month (of Ramadan)… we the sons of martyr Jamal Khashoggi announce we forgive and pardon those who killed our father,” son Salah Khashoggi twitted.
After the announcement of forgiveness from Khashoggi’s family, the life of the five convicts involved in the murder could be saved.
Meanwhile, Saudi authorities have still not made any comment on the legal ramifications of the announcement from Khashoggi’s son, reports said.
