KSA reports its first positive case of coronavirus (COVD-19)

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reports its first positive case of coronavirus (COVD-19). The confirmation comes from the Kingdom’s Health Ministry.

According to the ministry’s statement, the patient is a Saudi national, male who had returned from Iran to the Kingdom via Bahrain.

The statement further added that the man had not revealed his travel history.

Reportedly, KSA has prepared 25 hospitals beforehand to tackle any coronavirus cases.

A day earlier, the ministry’s spokesperson, Mohammed Abdelali, said that the setup of hospitals is part of the precautionary measures that included closing its borders to foreign Umrah pilgrims.

At least 2,200 hospital beds were dedicated to quarantine cases, Abdelali told at a news conference.

Earlier on Thursday, Saudi Arabia had announced a ban on foreigners coming to the kingdom for Umrah on tourists from at least 25 countries where the virus cases are confirmed.
