Lahore: Administration seals 35 shops, 5 restaurants for violating COVID-19 SOPs

The Lahore administration has sealed 35 shops and five restaurants for violating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the city on Thursday.

As being reported, Raiwind’s assistant commissioner sealed 20 shops and Model Town AC sealed 11 shops.

While four shops and five restaurants were sealed by Cantonment AC for violating SOPs.

Lahore Deputy Commissioner Muddassir Riaz Malik in a tweet said that a marriage hall has also been sealed for not following SOPs.

“Akbar e Azam marriage hall has been sealed for Covid 19 violation. A fashion show was underway where masks were not worn by anyone and no social distancing was observed,” he tweeted.

The Deputy Commissioner Lahore also notified of three violations in a marriage function in Farista Farm House.

“Violation of timing, one dish, and Covid 19 SOPs were observed. A criminal case has been registered against the owner”, he added.

Furthermore, 491 micro smart lockdowns have also been imposed in the Punjab province, as the number of coronavirus cases continues to rise in the country.

During the last 24 hours, Punjab has reported 273 new Covid-19 cases and five additional fatalities, taking the provincial tally to 103,587 and total fatalities to 2,347.

According to the government’s coronavirus portal, 97,410 people have recovered in the province so far.
