Order to close markets and restaurants in Lahore at 10 pm!

In the latest development, the Lahore High Court ordered the closure of markets and restaurants in the city at 10 pm.

Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court heard the petitions filed by Haroon Farooq and others regarding smog remediation on Wednesday.

During the hearing, the court ordered that markets should be closed at 10 pm and schools should be closed on Fridays.

The court also warned that any schools defying orders if opened on Fridays would be sealed.

The court in its order said that the education department should strictly implement the court decision.

The court gave relief of one hour on the closing of restaurants on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and said that on these three days restaurants should be closed at 11 pm while markets should not be closed at 10 pm on Sunday.

The court said that now the implementation of these orders has to be monitored.
