Civilian Confronts Armed Guards in Lahore's Beijing Underpass Shooting Incident; Authorities Initiate Legal Action

A road rage incident in Lahore’s Dharampura area has sparked outrage and public safety concerns. This incident was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media platforms.

A significant security incident occurred at the Beijing Underpass, where private security guards opened fire on a civilian’s car and subjected him to physical assault.

The civilian, identified as Muhammad Imran, confronted the assailants, leading to the apprehension of one guard.

According to reports, over a dozen armed guards, escorting foreign guests, disembarked from double-cabin vehicles and surrounded Imran’s car following a verbal altercation.
One of the guards fired shots, with a bullet striking Imran’s vehicle. In a courageous act, Imran exited his car and subdued the shooter.
Bystanders on motorcycles assisted in supporting Imran during the confrontation.

The Dolphin Police responded promptly to the scene, seizing an abandoned vehicle and firearms left by the fleeing assailants.
Lahore’s Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Operations, Faisal Kamran, took immediate notice of the incident and ordered the registration of a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act against the security guards and unidentified individuals involved.
A case was registered on Friday regarding the assault within the jurisdiction of Mughalpura Police Station, authorities confirmed.
A special police team has been formed to trace and apprehend the attackers using Safe City cameras.
Further investigations revealed that Pastor Rufus Christie had hired a private security company to escort two American guests attending an event in Pakistan.
The altercation ensued following a road-overtaking incident, escalating into a violent confrontation. Authorities are also scrutinizing the security company involved for potential legal violations.
The incident has sparked public outrage, with social media users criticizing the blatant display of lawlessness and questioning the accountability of private security personnel operating in public spaces.
