Several areas of Lahore have been put under complete lockdown for 15 days from midnight tomorrow due to a rapid increase in coronavirus cases.
These areas include:
2. Nistar Ground
3. Allama Iqbal Town
4. Lahore Cantt
5. Walled City
7. Shad Bagh
According to the Punjab Minister for Health Dr. Yasmin Rashid, more than 300 cases had been recorded in each of these areas which led to the decision to enforce a lockdown was taken there.

While, pharmacies, tandoors, and dairy shops will remain open in these areas and so will any factories that are making protective equipment.
“These areas will be locked down for at least two weeks and then we will observe the results”, she added.
The province of Punjab has reported another 1,537 cases in the past 24 hours.
This has taken the provincial tally to 53,721.
62 new deaths have also been reported from the province, taking the provincial tally to 1,031. This makes Punjab the first province to cross 1,000 deaths.
