Lockdown: Careem suspends services in Sindh

Ride-hailing service Careem has suspended services in Karachi until further notice as Govt. Sindh has imposed 15-days lockdown across the province.

The statement issued by Careem says, “The safety and well-being of all those who use Careem is a priority for us, especially during these difficult times.

In accordance with directives received from the Government of Sindh(GoS) following the outbreak of COVID-19, Careem would urge all our captains and customers to be community-minded and abide by the government’s directives to stay indoors and exercise caution.

In accordance with these directives from the GoS, Careem is temporarily suspending its services in the province of Sindh, effective 12 am, March 23, 2020, till further notice.”

Earlier, Airlift also decided to temporarily suspend its services till April 6, 2020, as the number of COVID-19 cases rises in Pakistan.
