“Maha”, following the intense Cyclone Kyarr— is all set to form in the Arabian Sea after winds in the northern Indian Ocean calmed down, forming another potential storm.
Maha, as named by Oman, is expected to hit Pakistan’s coastal areas and follow the similar route as Cyclone Kyarr over the next 24 hours.
According to the DG Met, Sardar Sarfaraz, another low pressure has developed after Cyclone Kyarr in the Arabian Sea following the winds that have turned calmer after Super Cyclone Kyarr.
The Met department reported that Kyarr was 370 kilometres away from Karachi as of Tuesday night.
The DG met said that the latest pressure in eastern Arabian Sea was borne out of the track that Super Cyclone ‘Kyarr’ left behind in the waters.
The Met department noted that the pressure was likely to become apparent in the next 24 hours and if these winds transform into a cyclone after 24 hours,‘Maha’ would gear up to hit Pakistan’s coastal areas the next.
