Major Drug Bust at Karachi Port: ANF Seizes 700 Kilograms of Methamphetamine

Ingenious Smuggling Tactics Foiled as Authorities Arrest Suspect and Continue Investigation

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has made significant strides in combating drug trafficking, recently thwarting a major smuggling attempt at Karachi port on Wednesday.

As reported, during a raid at the South Asia Pakistan Terminal, officials seized approximately 700 kilograms of methamphetamine, commonly referred to as ice.

This substantial haul was cleverly concealed within a shipment of calcium carbonate, with the narcotic hidden in 28 out of 854 bags inspected by ANF personnel.

The container, which was booked by a private company in Karachi, was destined for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Authorities arrested one individual in connection with this case, and an investigation is currently underway to uncover further details about the smuggling operation.

This seizure highlights the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in Pakistan regarding drug trafficking. Methamphetamine has seen a rise in usage both locally and globally, prompting increased efforts from agencies like the ANF to disrupt trafficking networks and prevent the spread of this potent substance.
