Not pandering to the nationalistic jingoism on display these day, Mansha Pasha called on artist to act as bridge of peace between Pakistan and India. Social media has been rife of conflicting reports regarding India’s alleged non-military strike inside Pakistani territory. Indian and Pakistani artist having been supporting their ‘sides’.
Amongst this the Laal Kabootar actress, Mansha Pasha has tweeted for artists from both sides to play a role of peace makers. She insisted that artist should not act as soldiers and continue to propagate a message of peace. Members of the art community should look at the broader definition of nationalism.
With her movie set to release in a month’s time it is refreshing to see an actor not toeing the line of hyper nationalism which has griped both these nations in the recent past. Often, we see artist using such occasions to promote their self-image or their movies.
When the tide is flowing completely in the other direction, Mansha Pasha deserves a lot of credit for giving out a message of peace.
Her movie Laal Kabootar release on 22nd March 2019.
