Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, presser comes amid circulating rumours about the health with suggestions that she may have been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
Recently, she travelled to Geneva for throat treatment, accompanied by her father, Nawaz Sharif, and senior PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb, which fueled speculation across social media platforms.
Prominent journalist Mansoor Ali Khan reported that her trip was not for routine care but linked to a cancer diagnosis.
However, PML-N leaders have dismissed these claims as unfounded.
The concerns about her health arose after she had surgery for a gland issue earlier this year and underwent further treatment in Switzerland. Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb clarified that Maryam’s health issues are related to a thyroid condition, which necessitated additional medical attention due to elevated test results. She reiterated that there has been no indication of cancer from recent tests.
Maryam’s situation has drawn public attention partly due to the past health struggles of her mother, Kulsoom Nawaz, who passed away from throat cancer in 2018. This context has heightened concerns and speculation regarding Maryam’s current health status.
