Karachi: Jamia Farooqia administrator Maulana Adil Khan and driver killed in a car firing incident
Jamia Farooqia administrator Maulana Dr. Adil Khan and his driver were killed in an assassination attempt by unknown persons in Shah Faisal Colony No. 2, according to police.
According to the police, unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on a car near Shama Shopping Center in the Shah Faisal Colony area.
As a result, Maulana Adil and the driver of the car were injured.
Maulana Adil and his driver were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition but both succumbed to their injuries.
Maulana Adil was the son of renowned religious figure Maulana Saleemullah Khan.
Reportedly, a large contingent of police arrived at the scene, and investigation is underway. While the police is obtaining the CCTV footage from nearby shops.
According to SSP Korangi Faisal Abdullah Chachar, bullet casings were recovered from the spot and are being sent to a lab for forensics.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the killing of a cleric in Shah Faisal Colony and has demanded a report from the police.
