Miss Marvel: Muslim superhero film in the works, says Marvel

Are you Marvel series fan? If you are, here’s a good news for you. Another Marvel series film will soon be landing as Marvel have a new film “in the works” with a figure of Muslim superhero Ms Marvel.

Marvel Studio president Kevin Feige had recently provided with the hint that there is going to be more to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after the fourth Avengers film hits the cinema.

It is not going to be the studio’s first film with female lead as Brie Larson is already set to enter the franchise as Captain Marvel in 2019.

Avengers Infinity War producer Kevin Feige told the media that, “Ms. Marvel… is definitely sort of in the works”. He also explained that she is “another character in the comic books, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel”.

Adding further to it Marvel revealed, “We have plans for that once we’ve introduced Captain Marvel to the world”.

In the comic books, Ms Marvel’s alter ego is a Pakistani American teenager from New Jersey, Kamala Khan. A 16 year old teenager, who lives with her conservative Pakistani parents and brother in New Jersey.

There hasn’t been any announcement lately about who will be playing this Ms Marvel character on screen, but there are speculations that Priyanka Chopra could be the first choice for the role. The Bollywood diva working in Hollywood has already voiced the character in the mobile video game Marvel: Avengers Academy.

Many fans have supported Priyanka Chopra to be cast in this role but at the same time some say that this role should played by a Pakistani-American rather than an Indian.
