Mohammad Hafeez cleared to bowl in international cricket

Just went it seemed that it would be difficult for Mohammad Hafeez to make a comeback in international cricket, he has been given a big boost. ICC has declared that his re-modeled action is within the 15 degree limit, hence he would be allowed to bowl in international cricket.

Mohammad Hafeez was banned from bowling after being reported in the Sri Lanka series late in 2017. In the test, some of his deliveries, the elbow flex was more than 15 degrees. In 2014, he was banned for a year from bowling and had to remodel his action then as well.

The Wahab Question!

This news a big plus for Hafeez, who was among the most economical bowlers in the period he was allowed to bowl. In 17  innings, he bowled with an economy of 4.24. It provided team Pakistan great balance. Micky Arthur has been quite vocal about the need for Hafeez to bowl. He was adamant that w/o the bowling option, it was difficult to make room for Hafeez in the T20 side. It is likely that he would be making a comeback in white ball cricket. ICC’s clampdown on off spinners, has made them endangered species. Pakistan has struggled to replace Saeed Ajmal. This comes as a relief.
