Sajal Aly, Adnan Siddiqui starrer and Sridevi’s final major film, Mom, was released in China on Friday 10th of May.
Both the Pakistani actors made their Bollywood debut with this film and probably it was their last across the border film as well. As the Indian film industry has restricted Pakistani actors and artists from working in Bollywood projects.
It was an emotional moment for the producer Boney Kapoor, as film Mom has been his late wife Sridevi’s last film.
By taking it to social media Boney Kapoor shared an emotional message. He wrote, “Mom releases in China today. An emotional moment for me. Thank you @ZeeStudios_ for spreading Sri’s last film to such wider audiences. I hope people will connect with the film there too. @SrideviBKapoor @MomTheMovie”.

Bollywood crime thriller film ‘Mom’ directed by Ravi Udyawar was released worldwide on 7th July 2017 except China.
In the film, Sridevi portrayed the character of a mother who sets out to seek vengeance for the gang rape of her stepdaughter, played by Pakistani actor Sajal Aly.
According to the film’s synopsis: Arya’s (Sajal Aly) life changes when she is brutally gang-raped by a group of spoiled rich students from her school and two of their house helps. Her stepmother (Sridevi) seeks justice and takes the help of a detective to teach the perpetrators a lesson.
The other star cast includes Adnan Siddiqui, Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui and others featuring in supporting roles. While the music for the film has been composed and produced by Oscar-winning artist A. R. Rehman.
This film marked Sridevi’s 300th and final major film appearance before her death on 24 February 2018.
