Monsoon Devastation: Torrential Rains and Floods Take 40 Lives Across Pakistan
In Karachi, over the past two days, eight deaths and several injuries have been reported in rain-related incidents.

Heavy monsoon rains and flash floods have claimed at least 40 to 46 lives across Pakistan in recent days, with many more injured, as severe weather continues to batter the country. The fatalities have occurred mainly in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19 to 22 people have died, including many children, with significant damage to homes and infrastructure, especially in areas like the Swat Valley, where flash floods swept away families picnicking by riverbanks.
Punjab has reported around 13 to 21 deaths, including children and women, mostly due to collapsing roofs and walls during heavy rains and flash floods.
Sindh and Balochistan provinces have also reported casualties and injuries related to the ongoing monsoon rains and urban flooding.
In Karachi, over the past two days, eight deaths and several injuries have been reported in rain-related incidents.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) have issued multiple weather alerts warning of continued heavy rain, flash floods, and landslides expected to persist until at least early July, urging authorities and citizens to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel, especially near rivers and flood-prone areas.
