The mosques across the country will remain during the holy month of Ramadan says the Federal Minister of Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri on Wednesday.
While talking to a news channel, Mr. Qadri said that the mosques will open during Ramadan but the implementation of all SOPs including social distancing will be ensured strictly.
Noorul Haq further advised the elderly to pray at home instead of in mosques.
On the other hand, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is to meet on April 13 to sight Ramadan’s moon.
The body, in a statement issued on Tuesday, said that Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Moulana Abdul Khabir Azad has called the session.
While the meeting of zonal and district committees will take place at their respective headquarters.
And the Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Islamabad’s session will be held at the Ministry for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony, the statement added.
It is pertinent to mention that this will be the first Ramadan moon sighting under the new chairman, Moulana Azad.
Maulana Azad was appointed by the federal government in December last year, he replaced Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.
