Wajidullah Nagri, and two Czech Republic mountaineers were rescued from Rakaposhi Mountain!

The three-stranded mountaineers Pakistan’s Wajidullah Nagri, and Jakub Vicek, and Peter Macek of the Czech Republic were successfully rescued from the Rakaposhi Mountain on Wednesday morning via a Pakistan Army helicopter.

 Deputy Commissioner Nagar Zulqarnain Khan confirmed all three mountaineers have been rescued by the army.

He said that the mountaineers have been shifted to Gilgit and thanked the Pakistan Army for saving the lives of the stranded mountaineers.

A trio of mountaineers had been stuck at an altitude of 6,900 metres on the mountain for the past five days.

The climbers had begun the ascent of Rakaposhi, one of the world’s most challenging peaks, on September 1 from the South Ridge and had reached the top on September 9.

A rescue operation launched on Sunday had to be suspended midway on September 12 due to rough weather.

Sajid Ali Sadpara has also joined the team of rescuers in Gilgit to rescue Czech climbers Jakub Vicek, Peter Macek and local climber Wajidullah Nagri.

Army helicopters dropped ropes and food to the three-stranded climbers.

The climbers will further descend down so the helicopters and ground team to assist them in airlifting.
