MQM founder Altaf Hussain arrested in London
MQM founder Altaf Hussain has been arrested in London by Scotland Yard on Tuesday. He is taken to a local police station.
MQM sources have confirmed the news that Altaf Hussain was arrested.
According to the news source, around 15 police officers carried out the raid at Altaf Hussain’s residence in London early morning.
The house premises is being searched by a forensic unit of Scotland Yard.
Reportedly, Altaf Hussain has been arrested in relation to the hate speech of 2016 in which he had urged his followers to take law into their own hands.
Altaf Hussain had issued violent threats to former DG Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar.
Scotland Yard in 2017, had sent a letter under ‘Mutual Legal Assistance’ to Pakistan in relation to two speeches made by the MQM founder on March 11, 2015 and August 22, 2016.
According to the Geo News, Both the Crown Prosecution Service and Metropolitan Police Services have confirmed that a criminal investigation had started against Altaf Hussain.
