MQM-P Slams Sindh Govt Over Dumper Truck Menace in Karachi

More than 100 people have lost their lives in traffic accidents involving dumpers within the past two months

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Central Committee Member Dr Farooq Sattar has sharply criticized the Sindh government for failing to address the growing threat of reckless dumper trucks in Karachi.

Speaking at a press conference at MQM Markaz Bahadurabad on Sunday, Dr Sattar accused the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), which has ruled Sindh for 16 years, of neglecting public safety.

Dr Sattar highlighted that over 100 people have died in traffic accidents involving dumpers over the past two months, underscoring rising lawlessness on Karachi’s roads.

He noted that after battling various mafias in the past, Karachi now faces a new challenge from what he termed a “dumper-tanker mafia.”

Additionally, Dr Sattar expressed concern over recent events, including the arrest of MQM chief Afaq Ahmed for allegedly making provocative statements while those responsible for deadly dumper accidents remain free.

He denied any involvement by MQM-P or Afaq Ahmed in arson attacks on dumper trucks and attributed these incidents to public frustration reaching its limit.
