Mufti Taqi Usmani lauds appointment of a Hafiz e Quran COAS!
Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani is a leading scholar of Hadith, Islamic jurisprudence and Islamic finance, took to social media on Thursday following the confirmation of the name of the Pakistan’s new Army Chief.
Mufti Usmani who has served as Judge of the Shari’at Appellate Bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan from 1982 to May 2002, in a tweet lauded the decision to appoint Lt Gen Asim Munir as the new COAS.

“Alhamdulillah, for the first time in the history of the country, a Hafiz Qur’an is being appointed as the Army Chief. General Asim Munir has memorized the Holy Qur’an in Medina. It is hoped that he will keep the Qur’anic instructions in mind while performing his duties. His appointment deserves a warm welcome,” Mufti Taqi Usmani said in a tweet.
