Mustafa Murder Case: Body Exhumed for DNA Test, Key Suspect to Face ATC Tomorrow

Sindh High Court approved the exhumation of Mustafa Amir's body for a post-mortem and DNA analysis.

Authorities on Friday exhumed a body from Keamari graveyard, believed to be that of slain 23-old Mustafa Amir, in a crucial step forward in the investigation.

Forensic teams collected samples from the remains during the exhumation process, which will now undergo further analysis to confirm the identity and gather potential evidence related to the case.

The mortal remains — presumed to be of the victim — were then buried by the rescue service at its Keamari graveyard on January 16.

The development comes after the Sindh High Court approved the exhumation of Mustafa Amir’s body for a post-mortem and DNA analysis. This decision follows a request from the police, indicating that the examination is crucial for determining the cause of death, which may involve torture, gunshot wounds, or the circumstances surrounding his burning.

A three-member medical board constituted on court orders, supervised the exhumation of the victim’s body today under the oversight of a judicial magistrate.

Police Surgeon Dr Summaya Syed heads the board and includes Additional Police Surgeon Dr Srichand and MLO Dr Kamran.

The victim’s body has been handed over to the Edhi Foundation and will be kept in their morgue until the DNA report is finalized.

Shocking Revelations by Prime Suspect During Interrogation:

The primary suspect, Armaghan, has confessed to torturing and murdering Mustafa. During police interrogation, he detailed how he assaulted Mustafa with an iron rod for two hours before setting him on fire while he was still alive but incapacitated. This confession has been recorded on video and is part of ongoing investigations into additional criminal activities linked to Armaghan.

ATC remands prime suspect into police custody:

Armaghan is set to be presented before an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday, for remand following the court’s directive. He has been in police custody since being apprehended after a shootout with law enforcement during a raid at his residence. The ATC has granted a four-day physical remand to facilitate further questioning and evidence collection.

Background of the Case:

Mustafa Amir went missing on January 6, and his charred remains were discovered later in Balochistan. Investigations revealed that he was allegedly lured to Armaghan’s house under false pretenses, where he was brutally attacked by Armaghan and another accomplice named Shiraz. The motive appears to stem from a personal dispute involving a girl.
