PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has been detained by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials, on Thursday while she was visiting her father Nawaz Sharif at the Kot Lakhpat Jail.
According to NAB sources, Maryam had excused herself from appearing before the accountability bureau today and had gone to meet Nawaz Sharif in jail.
As being reported, Maryam Nawaz is now being taken to NAB headquarters.
NAB sources have confirmed that warrants for Maryam were issued due to her non-appearance before NAB and PML-N vice president had been shown the warrants before she was taken into custody.
Earlier, Maryam was given a questionnaire based on six questions in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) case, which she was due to answer by 3 pm today.
However, NAB officials reached Kot Lakhpat jail and detained the PML-N vice president on her way back after she had met her father.
As being reported, Yousuf Abbas, a nephew, of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has also been arrested.
