NDMA Issues Heatwave Advisory for Punjab and KP from June 13-18
The NDMA urges the public to take necessary precautions during this period to mitigate heat-related health risks

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of Pakistan has issued a weather advisory warning of intense heat across most areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) from June 13 to 18, 2025.
This heatwave is expected to bring extremely high temperatures, with residents advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor exposure during peak heat hours between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
In addition to the heat, the advisory highlights the likelihood of rain and windstorms in northern and upper regions, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, the Potohar region, and parts of upper Punjab, from June 13 to 16.
KP will experience mostly hot weather, but some districts, such as Chitral, Dir, Kohat, Haripur, Abbottabad, Swat, and Waziristan, may see rain and windstorms, which could provide temporary relief but also pose safety risks.
Southern and central areas of Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan will continue to face extreme heat throughout the week.
The NDMA urges the public to take necessary precautions during this period to mitigate heat-related health risks and advises limiting outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.
This advisory follows earlier warnings issued in early June about hot and dry weather prevailing across Punjab, KP, Sindh, Balochistan, and other regions, with temperatures expected to remain significantly above normal levels.
