No procession announce for Youm-e-Ali! Fake news circulating on social media
The Sindh government on Tuesday has denied the issuance of notification on Majalis and Procession plan calling it as “fake”.
According to the details, a “fake notification” has been circulating on social media showing the provincial government announcement for lifting ban on procession on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali.
The notification bears no government stamp or signature, reports said, adding that it was mentioned in the notice that “a procession was planned for Ramazan 18 to 21” amid the coronavirus lockdown.
“COVID-19 preparedness plan for procession and ‘majalis’ of Imam Ali (AS) on 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st Ramazan. Individual SOPs for the supposed procession are given in it,” read the fake announcement.
However, Sindh Home department and Karachi commissioner has confirmed that there is no authenticity in the said plan.
