Overseas Pakistanis stage protest in Islamabad, demand Pfizer vaccine

Overseas Pakistanis staged a protest in Islamabad on Monday, demanding the Pfizer vaccine.

The protesters demanded to change the guidelines set by the National Command and Operation Centre regarding the Pfizer vaccine.

Holding placards at the protest at Islabamabad’s F-9 mass vaccination centre, protestors said that they were stuck in Pakistan, unemployed, demanding that they should be administered with the vaccine approved by Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan received 106,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine through COVAX earlier this month.

The government of Pakistan changed guidelines for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Earlier Pfizer vaccine was earlier reserved for Hajj pilgrims, overseas students, and workers, but now it will be only given to people with weak immunity.
