Pakistan on Tuesday officially announced the successful completion of its counter-offensive, Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, conducted from May 6 to May 10, 2025, in response to Indian military aggression.
The operation targeted 26 Indian military installations across Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and mainland India, including airbases, missile storage facilities, brigade headquarters, and logistics depots.
Key details of the operation include:
-
Precision strikes using Pakistan Army’s long-range Fatah series missiles (F1 and F2), Pakistan Air Force precision munitions, long-range loitering killer munitions, and artillery.
-
Major Indian targets hit were airbases at Suratgarh, Sirsa, Bhuj, Naliya, Adampur, Bhatinda, Barnala, Halwara, Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Udhampur, Mamun, Ambala, and Pathankot.
-
Destruction of BrahMos missile storage facilities at Beas and Nagrota, which had been used to launch attacks on Pakistani civilians.
-
Neutralization of S-400 missile battery systems at Adampur and Bhuj by the Pakistan Air Force.
-
Targeting of military logistics and command headquarters involved in planning attacks against Pakistani civilians, such as the Field Supply Depot at Uri and Brigade Headquarters at KG Top and Naushera.
-
Cyber operations reportedly disrupted 70% of India’s electricity grid.
-
Dozens of Pakistani armed drones hovered over major Indian cities, including New Delhi, demonstrating Pakistan’s unmanned aerial capabilities1.
The Pakistani military termed the entire period of hostilities from April 22 to May 10 as the “Battle of Truth,” emphasizing a defensive posture and moral clarity in exposing what it calls India’s destabilizing agenda in the region.
The operation concluded following the first round of talks between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India via hotline, and after international diplomatic interventions, including from the United States, led to a ceasefire.
In summary, Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos was a coordinated, multi-domain military response by Pakistan involving air, land, sea, cyber, and unmanned systems to degrade Indian military capabilities and deter further aggression while aiming to avoid civilian casualties.
The Pakistan Armed Forces expressed gratitude to the nation and political leadership for their support throughout the operation.
