Pakistan’s Attorney General, Tests Positive For COVID-19
Khalid Jawed Khan Pakistan’s Attorney General has tested positive for COVID-19, it emerges on Sunday.
AGP Khan is representing the government in the presidential reference seeking the Supreme Court’s opinion on holding Senate elections through an open ballot.
According to a news source, the AGP has quarantined himself for 14 days.
The development comes a day ahead when the apex court is scheduled to announce its opinion regarding presidential reference to hold Senate elections on the open ballot without a constitutional amendment.
AGP Khalid Jawed Khan was appointed to his position in February 2020.
According to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 1,176 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
While 23 deaths were reported nationwide on Sunday.
