Pakistan condemns use of Cluster bombs by Indian Army at LoC

Pakistani strongly condemns the use of cluster ammunition by Indian security forces targeting innocent civilians along the Line of Control (LoC) which is an act of international convention violation.

According to the statement of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Indian Army targeted innocent citizens including women and children in Neelum Valley through Artillery using cluster ammunition. Resultantly two civilians including a 4-year-old boy were martyred while 11 got critically injured, on the night of 30th-31st July.

Pakistanis including politician, journalists, and others have raised their objections, condemning Indian violations and killings of Kashmiri civilians in Indian occupied Kashmir.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi took to Twitter saying “Strongly condemn the blatant use of cluster ammunition by Indian Security Forces targeting innocent civilians along the Line of Control. This is a clear violation of the Geneva Convention and International Laws.”

He further added, “India in its war frenzy is not only sabotaging regional peace but also committing gross human rights violations along the LOC. I urge the nations of the world to take strict notice of the ongoing situation in IOK and LOC”.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in a tweet, said: Use of cluster bombs by Indian Army in Kashmir is outrageous. India continues to flout international conventions in its bloody attempt to stifle the aspirations of the people of Kashmir. The world continues to ignore the human rights catastrophe. This must change if we are to have peace”.

Senator Sherry Rehman also took to social media, in a tweet she said: “Cluster ammunition cannot be used on the LOC where innocent civilians are being targeted by India in the most heinous ways. Is @UN not going to reprimand Delhi on its blatant violation of the Convention on Cluster Ammunition, not to mention all international humanitarian laws?”.

DG ISPR condemns the use of cluster bombs by Indian army, says, “Use of cluster bombs by Indian Army violating international conventions is condemnable. No weapon can suppress determination of Kashmiris to get their right of self-determination. Kashmir runs in blood of every Pakistani. Indigenous freedom struggle of Kashmiris shall succeed, IA”.

Meanwhile, hashtag #KashmirUnderThreat is trending on social media, people came forwarded sharing their views over the current development. As the use of cluster bombs is a clear violation of international humanitarian laws, people demand the international community to take notice of Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir and at LoC.
