Pakistan Condemns Israeli Aggression on Iran at UN Security Council

Pakistan Calls It Open Act of State Terrorism and Threat to Global Peace

At an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) convened in response to Israel’s recent air strikes on Iranian military and nuclear facilities, Pakistan took a clear and firm stance condemning the Israeli attacks as blatant aggression and a grave threat to regional and global peace.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, described Israel’s actions as unjustified, illegitimate, and a violation of international law, urging the Security Council to immediately halt the aggression and hold Israel accountable for its actions during an emergency session convened on Friday.

Ambassador Ahmad emphasized that Iran has the sovereign right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter and highlighted that Israel’s repeated military actions in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and now Iran reflect a dangerous pattern of unilateral militarism that destabilizes the entire region.

He warned that if Israel’s aggression is not checked today, the consequences will be borne by all humanity in the future.

The Iranian representative at the UNSC also called the Israeli strikes an act of state terrorism, noting the attacks targeted nuclear facilities under UN nuclear watchdog supervision and caused civilian casualties, including women and children.

Pakistan, along with China, Russia, and other nations, supported Iran’s request for the emergency meeting and expressed solidarity with the Iranian government and people.

Pakistan urged all parties to prioritize diplomatic engagement and dialogue to resolve the crisis peacefully and avoid further escalation. The Pakistani envoy stressed the importance of upholding international law and the UN Charter to maintain regional stability and global security.
