Pakistan conducts successful test flight of Babur Cruise Missile 1B

Pakistan on Tuesday has conducted a successful test flight of Babur Cruise Missile 1B!

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) shared the development via a statement saying Babur Cruise Missile 1B is an “indigenously developed” weapon.

The test was successfully carried out by the Strategic Plans Division, which launched Hatf-VII ‘BABUR-1B’ GLCM from a test location carrying an inert warhead.

The test flight was aimed at re-validating certain design and technical parameters of the weapons system including an enhanced range and advanced navigation system.

The missile launch was witnessed by Lieutenant General Nadeem Zaki Manj, Director General, Strategic Plans Division, Dr. Raza Samar, Chairman NESCOM, Lieutenant General Muhammad Ali, Commander Army Strategic Force Command, senior officers from Strategic Plans Division, Strategic Forces, scientists, and engineers of strategic organizations.

The Director-General, Strategic Plans Division, congratulated the scientists and engineers on achieving excellence in the domain of cruise missile technology and expressed his full confidence that this test will further strengthen Pakistan’s Strategic Deterrence.
